University of California at Irvine Undergraduates Tour QuantumSphere Facility

A group of University of California at Irvine (UCI) undergraduate students were recently treated to an extensive tour of QuantumSphere’s manufacturing and lab facilities in Santa Ana, CA. The students were able to view first-hand the nanomaterial manufacturing process and R&D; work underway for battery, fuel cell and hydrogen generation and storage applications.

The tour came to a close with Doug Carpenter, QuantumSphere Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer, explaining how the company’s mission is to manufacture the highest quality nanometals and alloys available and leverage their use to provide disruptive solutions in commercial applications.

The company hosted the students in order to provide a special opportunity for them to learn about the developmental science and practical applications of QSI-Nano metals and alloys in important areas such as fuel cells and hydrogen generation. QuantumSphere has built a close relationship with UCI, which is home to the Integrated Nanosystems Research Facility and the National Fuel Cell Research Center, as well as other major academic and research institutions.
